VOTING BY MAIL – DEPOSIT YOUR BALLOT AT THE U.S. EMBASSY OR CONSULATE GENERAL

You have a few options for getting your ballot to the United States.

Some states already support electronic voting, but if your state requires you to return a paper ballot by mail, you can choose from one of these methods.

Option 1 – Drop your U.S.- postage paid ballot in the ballot box at the U.S. Embassy in the Hague (John Adams Park 1, Wassenaar) or the Consulate General Amsterdam (Museumplein 19, Amsterdam).  A ballot envelope that says “No Postage Necessary if Mailed in the United States” can be dropped in one of our ballot boxes without any additional postage.

Option 2 – Send your ballot to your U.S. election office through the Dutch international mail system, PostNL. Standard international postage rates apply.

Option 3 – Use an express delivery service, such as UPS, DHL, or FedEX to send your ballot to the United States. Commercial rates apply.

If you choose option 2 or 3, please review delivery timeline information to ensure that your ballot will arrive by the deadline. Make sure your vote counts!
