On November 14 and 15, 2016, nine U.S. exporters of Specialty Food Products had one-on-one meetings with twelve importers during a Reverse Trade Mission (RTM).
This RTM was organized by Food Export USA Northeast in close cooperation with USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service in The Hague.
The exporters were welcomed by Chargé D’Affairs Shawn Crowley and briefed by Agricultural Specialist Marcel Pinckaers. The group visited several food distributors including Jumbo, Marqt and De Kweker.
On November 15, the exporters had meetings with importers from not only the Netherlands but also Belgium, Germany, Denmark and Sweden and were able to present and test the products.
The exporters reported to be impressed by the quality of buyers and made several good leads.
One of the U.S. exporters, Cristina Domogma from Kimma.org said:
“I am so happy to learn there is an Equivalency Arrangement on organics between the United States and the EU. This really helps selling our organic products in the Dutch market”.
