Notice on Social Security Walk-in Days (temporarily suspended)

On Social Security Walk-in Days, the U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam provides social security services for first time Social Security number applicants who are over 12 years of age. Walk-in hour is from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, on a First Come, First Serve basis.  The next Social Security Walk-in Day will be announced here in due time.
You must bring photocopies of all original documents you are presenting, including your passport(s). Do NOT bring your laptop (see our entry instructions).

All other applicants, including those applying for replacement cards and applicants under age 12, please visit the Dublin Federal Benefits Unit (FBU) website at Federal Benefit Unit – U.S. Mission Ireland (usembassy.gov) for instructions regarding their mail-in application service.  The FBU Dublin provides services for the U.S. Social Security Administration to residents of The Netherlands

Amsterdam Social Security Days are not for information purposes. For information and guidance you must contact the FBU in Dublin, Ireland, before your visit to the Consulate General in Amsterdam. Consular staff in Amsterdam cannot answer questions on Social Security issues. Please see FBU Dublin’s website for detailed instructions at Federal Benefit Unit – U.S. Mission Ireland (usembassy.gov).  You may contact FBU Dublin via their online Inquiry Form available on the linked webpage.

After your visit your Social Security application will be shipped from Amsterdam to FBU Dublin via diplomatic pouch and take several weeks to arrive at its destination.
