Nonimmigrant Visa Fee Increase

Effective May 30, 2023, there will be an increase to certain nonimmigrant visa (NIV) processing fees.

The fee for visitor visas for business or tourism (B1/B2s), and other non-petition-based NIVs, such as student and exchange visitor visas (F, M and J categories), will increase from $160 to $185. The fee for certain petition-based NIVs for temporary workers (H, L, O, P, Q, and R categories) will increase from $190 to $205. The fee for treaty trader, treaty investor, and treaty applicants in a specialty occupation (E category) will increase from $205 to $315.

If you have already paid the lower fee, your payment is valid for 365 days from the date a receipt was issued for your payment. You must schedule an interview appointment or submit an interview waiver application within 365 days of your payment. You will not have to pay a fee difference.
