On Wednesday, May 24, 2017, several giant screens will be set up on Amsterdam’s Museumplein for public viewing of the Europa League Final featuring Amsterdam’s Ajax soccer team.  City officials expect tens of thousands of fans to attend and watch the match.  Several streets in and around the Museumplein area will be closed to traffic.  Officials recommend people arrive by public transport, bike, or on foot.  The Museumplein will be accessible starting at 6 p.m. with activities officially ending at 11:45 p.m.

If Ajax wins on May 24, an official celebration will take place on the Museumplein the following day, Thursday, May 25, 2017, with similarly large crowds expected.  The celebration would begin at 3 p.m. with members of the Ajax team arriving at 6 p.m.  Additional details for both events can be found at www.amsterdam.nl.

Officials expect both events to be peaceful but are taking necessary measures to ensure public safety.  The public can expect significant police presence at both events.
