The Amsterdam Mayor’s Office has announced additional security measures will be implemented around the “Sensation” event on Saturday, July 2, at the Amsterdam ArenA. Attendees should expect to be screened, while the surrounding area will be patrolled and no cars will be allowed in the transfer point under the Amsterdam ArenA. Additionally, in coming months, many outdoor festivals and events are planned in the Netherlands. Please note that because many of these events are held in places that are not traditional venues, the ability to provide security may vary considerably. When attending events where large crowds gather, please be aware of the increased risk to your safety.
Be aware of your local security situation and take appropriate steps to bolster your personal security. Review your personal security plans; remain aware of your surroundings and monitor media and local information sources for updates. Factor updated information into personal travel plans and activities. Address specific safety concerns to Dutch law enforcement authorities who are responsible for the safety of all visitors to the Netherlands.
