The Dutch police informed the U.S. Consulate General Amsterdam of a demonstration scheduled to take place on the Museumplein on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 12:00 to 14:00.
The demonstration, sponsored by the Peace Alliance, is in opposition to the U.S. President’s Executive Order on Protecting the Nation from Terrorist Attacks by Foreign Nationals. There will be significant police presence to ensure public safety.
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
