The COVID-19 pandemic and the need to prioritize the health of our staff and visitors has drastically impacted all consular processing at U.S. Consulate General Amsterdam. Due to severe staffing shortages and backlogs in demand for citizenship services we are currently unable to provide services on behalf of the Social Security Administration on a regular basis. As soon as we have information on our next Social Security Day we will post this information on our website. Once those days are posted you may contact us to schedule an appointment.
We strongly encourage those requiring replacement cards or a Social Security number for a child under the age of 12 to submit their documents directly to the Regional Federal Benefits Unit at U.S. Embassy Dublin (FBU Dublin) for expeditious processing. Please see their website for further details at https://ie.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/social-security/contact-the-federal-benefits-unit/
Arrangements are in place for U.S. Citizens with urgent requests for Social Security Benefits. They should contact FBU Dublin to receive instructions on how their requests will be processed.
The FBU in Dublin is reachable by email: FBU.Dublin@ssa.gov or through their online form. Please visit https://ie.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/social-security/contact-the-federal-benefits-unit/ for information on how to contact the FBU directly.
