Getting a new passport or a consular report of birth abroad? To ensure your document arrives at your home safely, bring an envelope with the registered mail stamp (aangetekende brief zegel) to your appointment for each application.
Since a passport or a report of birth abroad is an important document, we only send them using registered mail. That way you can track and trace your package and someone will have to sign in order to receive it. In order to use registered mail, you need to provide us with a registered mail stamp from Postnl for each application. Above is the example.
How to get them:
You can buy these stamps at ‘postnl’ points that you mostly find in other stores like: Primera, Bruna, or Albert Heijn. For a full list of locations check: https://www.postnl.nl/locatiewijzer and filter with ‘postzegel kopen’ (buy stamp)
Warning: Please don’t use the one you can print yourself online! They will expire after five days and processing will not be done by then.
